1. Click “Login” in the upper left corner of the page and enter your login details.

2. Once logged in, click on the “Actions” menu in the upper right corner of the home page.

3. Click on the “Create Venture” link in the pull down menu.

4. You will arrive on the create venture form:

5. Fill out the “About your venture” section, you can leave the “Venture Space Options” at their default settings. Click the “More Details (Optional)” section to fill in any additional details if they apply to your venture.

6. Click the yellow “Save” button at the lower right corner of the page to complete the “Create Venture” process.

7. Congratulations! You have successfully created a venture on Intel Challenge. An email will be sent to notify you of your newly created venture. Note that ventures must first be approved before they are publically displayed, so do not worry if you cannot see your venture immediately.

Intel Challenge offers its users the ability to network and collaborate with fellow entrepreneurs.  This sections cover updating your profile, adding team members to your venture, quickly updating your followers, and using Facebook to socialize your venture.

Updating your Profile:

A completed profile with interests, profile picture and public description gives a more personal touch to your experience at Intel Challenge.  It increases the chances of other fellow entrepreneurs connecting with you and identifying with your venture.

1.     Begin by updating your personal profile.  Click on your username in the upper left corner (in tutorial the username is "tutorial"). 

2.     Once you arrive at your profile page, click on “Edit Personal Info” at the right top  of the page.

3.     Fill out your profile (be sure to add an avatar or image of yourself and fill in your public descriptions as that is how others will know you on the site).  When finished, click the yellow “Save” button at the bottom right of the form.

Adding Team Members to your Venture:

In addition to updating your profile, it is also important to update your venture to include your team members.  Adding your team members will allow for better networking as it adds a personal face to your Venture. 

The most direct way to add members is to use the Manage Members feature. 

Tip: be sure to have your team members register on the site first and send you their user names first.  You'll need them for this step.

1.     On your Venture's main  page, click on the “Manage Members” button in the Action Block:

2.     Click on the “Add Members” tab

3.     Type the first few letters of the username of the first member you want to add  (this is why you need to know the usernames of your team).  Auto-lookup will show you matching  usernames.  Select the correct one and click "Add".  Repeat for all members of your team.

4.     If you want to give a member privileges to create content and arrange content on the home page of your venture you can make them delegate admins.  Just click on the List tab, select the user name and click "Admin:Create" as shown below:

Quick Status Updates for your Venture:

Another tool Team Members can use to provide quick updates on your venture status is the Status Bytes block.  Any Member can type in a short update that will show up for viewers on the home page of your venture.  It is a good way to keep your venture current with little effort.

1. Any member of your Team can simply type in a short message (URLs OK too) and click Shout:

You can have your friends, colleagues and, business associates follow your Venture's progress.  Just ask them to click the Follow link next to your venture name and they will receive automatic updates when you add content to your venture.

Recommend (Facebook Like):

Note: Be sure your venture is ready before recommending it as it will post a link to your venture to your Facebook wall! 

1. You and your viewers can recommend your Venture.  By clicking the “Recommend” button, your venture will be posted to the recommenders Facebook network.
     

Note: You can also send out your venture URL link to your peers, business associates, and interested parties to introduce them to your venture.

To connect with other entrepreneurs or see what other ventures are on Intel Challenge:

1.    Click on the  “Browse” menu on the top global navigation of the site and click on Ventures, People, Forums, etc… to browse other entrepreneurial work or connect with fellow entrepreneurs.
 

2.  If you are interested in communicating with another member of the site, hover over their image and select Add Friend.  Once they accept your friend request you can message them on the site.
